About Us

Bob Biter started Biter Electric out of the basement of his home in the early 1970s. Today, Bob Biter Electrical Enterprises, Inc. is one of the largest electrical contractors in Western Pennslyvania. While Bob never envisoned such growth and success, his tireless work ethic, commitment to his clients and dedication to his family provided the foundation for a successful company.

With the support of his wife, Thelma, Bob worked at the job site by day and his evenings estimating projects at home while his wife managed the office. Bob’s goal was always to develop and grow a family business, and in the early 1980s, this goal started to become a reality. Bob and Thelma’s son-in-law, John Bianconi (married to daughter Reine), joined the company, and immediately, the company saw an injection of young blood and additional resources in the field, setting the stage for the growth and success demonstrated by Bob Biter Electric today.  The additional resources and newfound enthusiasm produced increasing workloads and the need to expand the office environment. As a result, Bob’s daughter Lori took an active role in the daily day to day operations of the office. Shortly thereafter, the marriage of their daughter Patty to Pat Frank brought another son-in-law into the family business.

The additional resources in the field permitted Bob to spend more time in the office focusing on project bids while generating increased workloads. This resulted in substantial company growth and ushered in the computerized era for Bob Biter Electric.

In 1988, Bob and Thelma’s remaining unmarried daughter, Wendy, was married, and shortly thereafter after, her husband Jim Capelli joined the ranks of the family-owned business.

In 1990, the continued growth resulted in the need for a new office building. Ground was broken on the new facility located on Admiral Peary Highway in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Less than 10 years later, the facility had to be expanded, and renovations had begun. Several offices, an estimated room, and a conference room were added.

today, Bob Biter Electrical Enterprises, Inc. maintains approximately 30 key personnel on a regular basis. As a Union Contractor, we have access to a large volume of skilled electricians, allowing us to expand our workforce to meet any project requirements.
